MG is expanding its electric range in Denmark with the introduction of the MG4 EV Urban, a larger and more tech-heavy variant of the MG4.
The new model is scheduled to arrive in Danish and Scandinavian showrooms in May, though pricing has yet to be announced.
Bigger Body, More Cabin Space
The MG4 EV Urban is physically larger than the standard MG4 Electric — 108 mm longer, 33 mm taller, 6 mm wider, and riding on a 45 mm longer wheelbase. It measures 4,395 mm in length, making it a fairly sizeable family hatchback. MG says the extra dimensions translate into more usable interior space, and the boot capacity of 479 litres with rear seats up — expandable to 1,364 litres with them folded — puts it ahead of many rivals in its class. A 98-litre under-floor compartment adds further practicality.
Two Battery Options
The car is built on MG’s E3 platform with front-wheel drive and comes in two versions: a 43 kWh Standard Range with a claimed WLTP range of 325 km, and a 54 kWh Long Range rated at up to 416 km. Both support fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes. A heat pump is included as standard.

Screens and Physical Buttons
Inside, the MG4 EV Urban gets a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen alongside a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard. Notably, MG has reintroduced physical buttons for climate and media controls — a response to criticism of the touchscreen-heavy approach taken in many modern EVs. The top trim adds wireless charging and a 360-degree camera system with four ultrasonic sensors.
The driver assistance package, branded MG Pilot, has been updated to cover 17 systems. A new customisation option lets drivers save their preferred settings for quick access.
Safety and Design
The MG4 EV Urban has received a five-star Euro NCAP rating and comes with seven airbags. MG states that 90 percent of the body structure uses high- or ultra-high-strength steel.
Visually, the Urban departs from the sharper lines of the standard MG4, adopting a smoother, more rounded appearance. Design cues such as the full-width rear light bar and arrow-shaped tail lights are borrowed from MG’s Cyberster roadster. Six exterior colours will be offered, including a new Stone Green option.
Five driving modes are available — Snow, ECO, Standard, Sport, and Custom — and the car has a turning radius of 5.2 metres.
What’s Still Unknown
MG has confirmed the May 2026 launch window and the model’s standard seven-year/150,000 km warranty, but has held back on pricing until closer to the on-sale date. How it will be positioned against the existing MG4 Electric — and competitors such as the Volkswagen ID.3 and Renault Mégane E-Tech — will likely depend heavily on where MG sets the price.
