Kia is preparing to strengthen its position in the European market with the production launch of the new XCeed. Production officially begins on May 29 at the brand’s factory in Žilina, Slovakia, where the model will become part of an increasingly electrified and versatile product portfolio.

Production in Slovakia will take place alongside models such as the Sportage and the upcoming EV4 and EV2 electric vehicles. This underlines Kia’s ambition to expand its presence in Europe with both conventional and electrified powertrains.

What’s new in the new Kia XCeed

The new XCeed builds on an already popular model and benefits from modernized production lines that also support the electrified vehicles of the future. At the same time, the model plays a central role in Kia’s strategy of offering a broad range of powertrains — from gasoline and mild-hybrid systems to fully electric solutions.

The engine lineup starts with a 1.0 T-GDI gasoline engine producing 116 hp paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. With mild-hybrid technology, buyers can also choose a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The more powerful 1.6 T-GDI engine, available with either 150 hp or 180 hp, comes exclusively with the DCT transmission.

A full hybrid version will follow later in 2026.

Updated interiors

Inside, the cabin features a new digital setup with dual 12.3-inch displays for both the instrument cluster and infotainment system. We expect to learn more about the new Kia XCeed soon.

It is also important to note that this new XCeed is based on the previous-generation model. Meanwhile, the Ceed Station Wagon and Hatchback are now known as the Kia K4
