Charging capabilities have expanded. Devices receive up to 90W power delivery via USB-C (45W front, 45W rear), while a 15W wireless charging pad with cooling technology eliminates cable management in the central cubby.

The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function transforms the Born into a portable power source, capable of supplying laptops, e-bikes, or high-power audio systems through a dedicated adapter—ideal for outdoor adventures.

Sennheiser’s Contrabass technology powers the premium 10-speaker audio system, employing psychoacoustic techniques to deliver profound, incisive bass frequencies creating rich, immersive soundscapes.

A new internal sonic signature with distinct emotional character activates in CUPRA and Performance driving modes. Developed to react to acceleration, speed, and mode selection, this engineered sound experience amplifies performance perception without intrusiveness, precisely mirroring the Born’s character and intensifying the electric driving thrill.

New, more efficient powertrains

The Born’s heart conceals one of the market’s most advanced electric powertrains, engineered for real-world performance. Three motor-battery configurations cater to diverse customer needs:

Cupra Born VZ

The flagship 326 CV (240 kW) configuration delivers 545 Nm of instantaneous torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds with a top speed of 200 km/h. Despite increased power, it offers approximately 600 km range. Distinctive CUP Bucket seats position the driver closer to the car’s center of gravity, while regenerative paddles enable immediate energy recovery control.

Cupra Born Endurance

The 231 CV (170 kW) variant maintains the 79 kWh battery and 600 km range, balancing performance and efficiency for versatile driving.

Cupra Born Plus

The entry-level 190 CV (140 kW) with 58 kWh battery offers 450 km range, perfect for urban-focused drivers and daily commuters.

Advanced Driving Technologies

One-pedal driving liberates acceleration and deceleration through the accelerator alone. Releasing the throttle triggers automatic deceleration via regenerative braking, recovering energy while reducing brake pedal reliance. This delivers smoother deceleration, enhanced energy recovery, and intuitive control—particularly effective in urban environments and stop-and-go traffic, enabling the vehicle to halt completely without manual braking.

Launch Control (exclusive to VZ and Endurance versions) manages torque delivery for maximum acceleration from standstill, injecting emotional engagement into acceleration.

Progressive steering and Sport ESC combine with wider 235mm tires on 19 and 20-inch wheels to enhance grip and cornering precision. Five driving modes—Range, Comfort, Performance, Individual, and CUPRA—modify engine response, steering feel, and suspension settings, with up to 15 Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) adjustment levels available. Range prioritizes efficiency, Comfort softens suspension for long journeys, Performance unlocks dynamic capability, CUPRA delivers maximum emotional impact, while Individual enables personalized configuration.

The comprehensive safety systems confirm the Born as one of the segment’s most secure vehicles. These technologies reflect CUPRA’s commitment to intelligent protection and dynamic security.

Travel Assist 3.0 represents significant evolution, now integrating cloud-based data to enhance longitudinal control. The system recognizes road bumps, traffic light stop points, and pedestrian crossings while optimizing speed approaching curves. In combination with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist, it maintains vehicle centering and responsiveness across all speeds.

The new Cross-road Assist prevents intersection collisions by monitoring velocity, distance, and road signals. It alerts the driver via the Cupra Virtual Cockpit and can initiate autonomous braking if collision risk is detected—particularly valuable in complex urban contexts where driver distraction poses challenges.

Front Assist has been refined to offer multi-stage collision mitigation, now detecting up to two preceding vehicles while preparing automatic emergency braking. Graduated warnings—visual, acoustic, and tactile—precede automatic braking if necessary, ensuring driver focus while maintaining vehicle readiness.

Pre-crash functionality coordinates with ESC and Front Assist to activate seatbelt pretensioners, close windows and panoramic roof, and activate emergency lighting upon imminent collision detection. A new rear-impact detection function provides protection against accidents from any direction.

Supporting these systems is a sophisticated network of radar, cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and external data sources creating real-time environmental awareness.
