MG Motor has delivered its one-millionth vehicle to a European customer, marking a major milestone in the brand’s rapid expansion across the continent. The achievement caps a remarkable growth journey for the British-founded marque, which returned to its home market in 2011 and has steadily expanded across Europe since 2019.

Today, MG operates in 34 European markets with a network of more than 1,300 dealers. In 2025 alone, the company sold 300,000 vehicles in Europe—an increase of 30% compared with 2024.

A key driver behind this momentum has been MG’s early and consistent focus on fully electric vehicles and efficient hybrid models offered at competitive prices. Since its relaunch, the brand has delivered more than 317,000 fully electric cars in Europe, while hybrid deliveries reached 139,000 units in 2025.

The popular MG ZS remains MG’s best-selling model in Europe with 424,000 units sold, with markets such as the United Kingdom playing a central role in building the brand’s volume.

Denmark: 167% growth in one year

MG’s expansion is equally striking in Denmark.

In 2025, MG sold 3,045 vehicles in Denmark, representing a 167% increase compared with 2024, when sales totaled 1,140 units. Unlike many other European markets, Denmark’s growth has been largely driven by electric vehicles, which now account for around 70% of MG’s total sales in the country.

MGS6 EV

The award-winning MG4 Electric, together with the new SUV MGS5 EV launched last year, has gained strong traction among Danish buyers. This success has positioned MG as one of the most prominent emerging Chinese-owned brands in the Danish automotive market.

Rising demand has also led MG Denmark to more than double its dealer network during 2025. The brand is now represented by 17 dealers nationwide.

According to Rasmus Aagaard, CEO of the Danish MG importer, the growth is no coincidence. Danish customers place high demands on quality, safety, and total cost of ownership—allowing MG to achieve a strong market fit. He emphasized that once customers experience the cars in real-world use, initial skepticism quickly turns into trust.

He also highlighted that MG’s strong EV lineup, clear European presence, nationwide dealer and service network, and seven-year factory warranty provide the reassurance Danish buyers expect. With the MGS6 EV recently joining the lineup alongside MG4 Electric and MGS5 EV, the brand believes its portfolio is well aligned with market demand and expects continued positive momentum into 2026.

Looking Ahead

MG has already announced a wave of new technological and design developments planned for 2026, aimed at further strengthening its competitive position in Europe. With electrification at the core of its strategy and strong growth across key markets, the brand’s expansion shows no signs of slowing.
