You can now get the new Mercedes CLA with 800-volt technology and up to 531 kilometers of range for 379,499 DKK.
When Mercedes unveiled its brand-new all-electric CLA earlier this year, it was clear the German marque intended to take the fight to Tesla and Polestar. Although the model already arrived with a competitive price, Mercedes has introduced a more affordable variant to make owning an electric CLA easier for more customers.
A smaller battery, same premium appeal
The new Mercedes CLA 200 with EQ technology comes with a 58 kWh battery and a rear-mounted motor producing 165 kW (224 hp). It sprints from 0–100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and achieves a WLTP range of 531 km — roughly on par with the Tesla Model 3 Standard.

Price-wise the drop is significant: at 379,499 DKK, the CLA 200 is the most accessible electric CLA to date.
Faster charging despite a smaller pack
Compared with the more expensive CLA 250+, which features an 85 kWh battery and up to 792 km WLTP range, differences are obvious. Yet the smaller CLA 200 actually offers a faster charging profile: 10–80% in just 20 minutes, two minutes quicker than the larger model.

Trim levels and options
The CLA 200 is available in three design lines:
- Progressive — standard
- AMG Line — +24,984 DKK
- AMG Plus — +43,559 DKK
Both AMG variants add sportier styling and upgraded interior details, ensuring even the entry-level car retains a premium feel.
What this means for the market
The cheaper CLA 200 not only makes electric ownership more realistic for more Danish drivers, it also shows Mercedes is willing to compete on price to secure a foothold in the crowded mid-segment EV market. The move signals a pragmatic strategy: combine desirable technology and Mercedes branding with a pricing strategy designed to broaden appeal.
Like the other CLA models, the CLA 200 currently supports 800-volt charging only, but Mercedes has confirmed a dual-voltage version (400V/800V) is scheduled to arrive in spring 2026.
