Hyundai has pulled the wraps off two striking new concepts — Venus and Earth — that preview an entirely new design direction for the Ioniq brand in China. The unveiling took place ahead of the Beijing Auto Show on April 24, signaling that Chinese customers will get a very different take on Ioniq compared to what’s sold in the US and Europe.

The Venus is a sleek, flowing sedan, while the Earth is a bold and chunky SUV. Interiors Built for the Future
Inside, both concepts lean into the minimalist, screen-heavy aesthetic that has become standard in modern EVs — but turned up a notch.

The mood lighting is designed to mimic the dappled effect of tree shadows — a subtle but evocative touch.
A Universe of Future Models
Hyundai stopped short of sharing any powertrain details, describing the two concepts as a “barometer” for the Ioniq brand’s future design direction in China rather than production-ready vehicles. One thing that will carry over to production, however, is the naming strategy: Hyundai says future Ioniq models will be named after planets, building out what the company calls a “universe” of models.

The Venus and Earth concepts represent a significant visual departure from Ioniq’s current lineup — and a clear sign tha
