Denmark’s largest electric vehicle exhibition is expanding significantly for its second edition, with organizers adding extra hall space and securing broad support from the automotive industry. The Elbilmessen will take place at MCH Messecenter Herning from October 2 to 4, 2026.
Growing on last year’s success
The 2025 edition drew 27,845 visitors, and this year’s show builds on that momentum with two additional halls. According to Mobility Denmark, the expansion reflects how quickly the Danish EV market itself is evolving.
Mads Rørvig, CEO of Mobility Denmark, says the 2025 show was a success across the board, and this year raises the bar further. Visitors will be able to explore a wide range of the newest electric vehicles, get guidance on charging and charging infrastructure, and learn more about the technological developments shaping the car industry. He notes the market is moving fast, so guests can expect new models, new solutions, and fresh perspectives on the future of mobility.

The additional space, Rørvig explains, allows organizers to create better conditions for both exhibitors and visitors. That means more cars on display, more room for activities and test drives, and a more inspiring overall experience. He expects the show to once again serve as an important meeting point where the industry and consumers can connect and exchange experiences.
Rørvig also frames the exhibition within the broader transformation underway in the car market. He describes Elbilmessen as an important gathering point during a historic shift, giving Danes the chance to compare models, ask questions, and get a realistic picture of what it is like to own and use an electric car day to day.
Volvo joins for the first time
Among the many brands present this year is Volvo, exhibiting at Elbilmessen for the first time. Rikke Aagaard Petersen, Head of Communications and Events at Volvo Car Denmark, says the brand is looking forward to presenting the Volvo EX60 to visitors and letting them experience the car both on the stand and behind the wheel. She adds that Volvo has an exciting announcement in the works, though details cannot be shared yet.
Petersen describes the exhibition as an important platform because it brings together a purchase ready audience able to compare cars and test drive different models in one place. Volvo hopes to send many visitors out on test drives and looks forward to conversations about its now complete electric lineup, spanning from the EX30 to the EX90 and ES90. She points to the exhibition as a marker of how far EV adoption has come in Denmark, where electric cars are now the natural choice for most private car buyers.
More halls, more room to grow
The team behind Elbilmessen is equally enthusiastic about the expanded format. Nikolaj Pagh, head of exhibitions at MCH A/S, says the organizers are proud and grateful for the strong backing from the car industry. He notes that support from so many brands and partners has made it possible to expand the show significantly and build even better conditions for exhibitors and visitors alike. With more halls, more cars, and more activities, the team looks forward to welcoming thousands of guests over three days to experience the development of the EV market all in one place.
