After months of persistent leaks and repeated sightings, DJI has finally put the rumor cycle to rest with an official teaser confirming the launch date of the Osmo Pocket 4 family: April 16 at 12:00 GMT (2:00 PM Italian time). The teaser was accompanied by a Chinese tagline that roughly translates to “A myriad of images in one inch” — a phrase that likely hints at both the camera’s compact form factor and the presence of its one-inch sensor.
End of the Rumor Season
The Osmo Pocket 4 has been one of the most leaked products in DJI’s recent history. Alleged delays pushed the launch further than expected, and in the process the gimbal camera was spotted multiple times across various sources — even revealing the existence of two distinct versions of the device. That chapter now appears to be closing.
What to Expect: A Dual Upgrade
Based on everything that has surfaced so far, the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 builds on the solid foundations of the current Osmo Pocket 3 while addressing some of its key limitations. The confirmed and rumored upgrades include a larger battery for extended shooting sessions, over 100 GB of built-in storage with read/write speeds up to 800 MB/s, 10-bit D-Log support for professional color grading workflows, and a 1-inch sensor with 14 stops of dynamic range.
The Pro Variant: Dual Sensors and Optical Zoom
Beyond the standard model, DJI is also reportedly preparing an Osmo Pocket 4 Pro variant — the headline feature being a dual-sensor setup that adds genuine optical zoom capability. This would mark a significant expansion of what a gimbal camera of this size can do, making it competitive across a much wider range of shooting scenarios. Together, the two models represent both a meaningful evolution of the existing line and an upward push into more advanced territory.
Pricing and Availability Still Unknown
What remains unclear is how DJI will price the two models for international markets, and whether both will launch simultaneously on April 16. Those answers are only days away.
