Stellantis has officially announced the appointment of Antonio Filosa as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective June 23. The decision follows a thorough internal and external search process led by a special committee of the Board of Directors, chaired by John Elkann. Filosa’s nomination received unanimous approval, highlighting the Board’s confidence in his vision and longstanding contribution to the company.
In preparation for his official election to the Board of Directors, a special shareholders’ meeting will be convened. In the meantime, the Board has granted Filosa full operational authority to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
Antonio Filosa: the man who made FCA-Stellantis great in South America
Antonio Filosa’s journey in the automotive industry spans more than two decades. He has held key roles across multiple regions, consistently demonstrating strong managerial skills and a results-driven approach to brand development and market growth.
In South America, Filosa led Fiat to the top of the market and expanded the presence of major Stellantis brands such as Peugeot, Citroën, Ram, and Jeep. He was instrumental in establishing the Pernambuco plant in Brazil, which became a cornerstone for Jeep’s success in the region.

Later, as CEO of the Jeep brand, he further solidified its global reach, including successful launches in Europe—most notably with the Jeep Avenger. Since December 2024, serving as Chief Operating Officer for the Americas, Filosa has introduced new product strategies, optimized inventories, and strengthened relationships with partners, suppliers, and dealerships.
Filosa is recognized for his ability to guide organizations through complex phases with a practical and inclusive approach. His leadership style is defined by close engagement with teams, attention to execution, and a clear commitment to reinforcing each brand’s unique identity within the Stellantis portfolio.
John Elkann, Chairman of the Board, emphasized Filosa’s deep knowledge of the company and its people, qualities that make him exceptionally suited to lead during a pivotal time for the global automotive industry.
Filosa’s Vision for the Future
“It is a great honor for me to be appointed CEO of this incredible company,” Filosa said upon the announcement. “I am grateful to our Chairman, John Elkann, and to the Board of Directors for their leadership—especially in recent months—and for the trust they have placed in me to lead Stellantis at such a critical time for our industry.”
Filosa praised the dedication and talent of Stellantis employees and reiterated his belief in the company’s legacy of excellence. “We have the most iconic brands in automotive history and over 100 years of innovation behind us. This heritage, combined with our commitment to delivering the products and services our customers love, is the foundation of our success,” he added.
Central to Filosa’s vision is a strong emphasis on customer experience, with a focus on real-world needs and tailored solutions. He also highlighted the importance of honoring Stellantis’ rich heritage while embracing the ongoing transformation of the automotive market.
